Getting top ranking on the Search Engines is becoming more competitive everyday. The longer any company waits to make progress in their Natural Search Engine optimization efforts, the longer it can take for them to get the exposure they need for their company.

With Google swapping up an estimated 50% to 60% of all online searches and Yahoo close behind with 30% to 40% and MSN coming in with 11% to 22%, your business should not wait to try and reach its online market.

Search Engine Optimization can be handled in a few ways.

  • 1) Hire an experienced employee, Costs between $50K to $150K depending on the experience of the candidate.

  • 2) Find an experienced company and have them work for you. Costs between $12K and upwards of $96K depending on the firm and the campaign.

  • 3) Find great online resources and tutorials and learn from them. Remember to add that link back to them for helping you!

    Find Great Online SEO Tutorials

If you have the time to do it yourself, and/or a low SEO budget, you can find a plethora of high quality resources online. Even some of the most seasoned pros, still learn from these resources, forums, and online SEO tutorials.

There are numerous forums, tutorials sites and blogs that offer excellent training resources. The more experienced you become, the more you will be able to readily identify the best of the best.

    Finding a Professional SEO Company

Find an experienced company and have them work for you. Costs between $12K and upwards of $96K depending on the firm and the scope of the campaign.

Many companies have seasoned professionals on staff and look to gain a long-term business relationship. SEO firms have generally ranked several companies to the top 10 of their industry.

Be wary in the SEO industry, because some companies seek to offer little in results and turn clients around every six months.

It is also recommended that you research the company and its business affiliations. Many companies are mom and pop companies that have poorly ranked clients.

Do not rush your search for an SEO company as it can cost you a rebuild or even your current rankings can be lost. Find companies whose clients rank for obviously competitive terms, and be sure you can verify the reference.

    Hire an In-House Employee

You can look to hire an experienced employee, This usually costs between $50K to $150K depending on the experience of the candidate. Finding the right candidate with the right experience can be another task. In-House employees give you full control of their time and projects and it allows for some on the job training time.

Some of the top SEO professionals in the country started as In-House employees and moved on into their own businesses.

There are always benefits to online employees that make some companies want them in house, however, many of the more experienced SEO professionals are now working for SEO Firms or have developed heir own firms. The cost per campaign is also higher when hiring an employee.

Helpful advice for making the most of this Guide

    • With many education forums and free online training resources, it is easy to find all the materials you need to optimize you business. However, if time is a matter then hiring a firm or employee to handle the work would be the best idea.

I recommend, if you have the time, you get your hands wet in the SEO process. Keep in mind that SEO is not an overnight process and it can literally take several month to gain rankings. So bear this in mind when doing it yourself. In the long-term it may be wise to hire and SEO firm or a staff employee.

It may also be apparent after interviewing job candidates, that an SEO company would offer you more experience in the long run.

Some SEO companies actually go in-house, and offer training services so businesses can get thier staff professionally trained. You usually have to ask an SEO firm for this service, as most do NOT note this publically.
