So here are a few pointers that will help you develop a good Keyword Strategy 1. Decide on the main keywords and keyword phrases that you would like to implement (eg. instead of "Computers" use "buy new computers" or "buy fast computer at affordable price" Don't go for too many or you will just get confused and frustrated 2. Think about what your target customer is going to punch into that search box and add it in as a phrase, Customers are now realising that the more information that they put into the search box the more refined their results will be and they will find what they are looking for.

3. Implementing the Keywords on your website is of paramount importance, make sure that when you are talking about "buying fast computers" that you have it mentioned several times on the page that is selling the computers. As a matter of fact the more often you use the same "keyword" or "Keyword Phrase" then the easier it will be for the search Spiders to figure out actually what you are doing. You should mention it in the content section of the Webpage, the HTML Section(Tags, Description). Pictures are not indexed by the Search Spiders but you can use the "ALT" text to enter your Keywords also.

4. When you are submitting your links to portals and other Search engines or Forums, Be sure to use the same keywords in your Signatures and description texts. Always use the same keywords

5. When Advertising in Adwords , or other Pay per Click engines , make sure that your keywords match those that are on your website. Actually Adwords is a good place to get variations of your keywords using their "Keyword Suggestion tool"6. Keyword Saturation or Keyword Density is a phrase that is thrown about a lot. This is not to be ignored. We find that a Saturation of between 3% and 5% works quite well : What this means is that for every 100 words on your webpage your main keywords should be mentioned 3 to 5 times.

6. Keyword Saturation or Keyword Density is a phrase that is thrown about a lot. This is not to be ignored. We find that a Saturation of between 3% and 5% works quite well : What this means is that for every 100 words on your webpage your main keywords should be mentioned 3 to 5 times. 7. write down your main keywords and keyword phrases and have them on a page beside your computer when you are doing the copy(content) for your website. Try to use them as often as possible. You will soon find that this is easier said than done. Make sure that the pages are easier to read.

8. Do NOT do the following... write keywords a hundred times at the bottom of your page , write keywords in the same colour as your background text, The Spiders (the things that crawl the internet indexing pages for the Search Engines) really don't like this and will not index your page(bad penalty).

and the last two tips are here

9. The best overall strategy is to brainstorm and think about what Customers want, Know your Audience, know who wants to buy your product, use your best guess to think about what they are going to type into the Search engines Search box and use those phrases as your keywords.

10. A Sneaky but rather good way of researching this further is to look at a competitors site in another country, who you know are successful and try to mimick what they are doing in your own style. It's not unethical , but it is Illegal to copy their source code so DON'T DO IT. I know of a girl who did this once and was hit with a bill for 3000 euro, Mind you she completely copied the meta tags from her competitors Website... Not recommended
