Large accredited investors are people with at least $2.5 million in investments (excluding homes) or $400,000 in annual income ($600,000 when combined with a spouse). This is a new category of qualified buyers of financial products that is meant to protect smaller investors which the SEC see as less able to absorb some of the risks of certain investments.
