Whether we are talking about a brand new hotel with a modern, trendy look and feel or a more traditional hotel with perhaps an English flare choosing the right hotel furniture is an important part of creating the mood.

Let's say the hotel is a quaint little place with a country flare located just on the outskirts of the city would you want modern brass headboards or wrought iron headboards? It is important to understand how such a small part of the room can have such a big impact.

Hotel furniture isn't just the furniture in the rooms. It's the furniture found in the office, in the coffee shop, and in the dining room. It's the look and feel of the banquet rooms and even the furnishings in the halls.

The furniture you choose makes a statement to the public. For example, your client walks into the lobby of well known hotel that is known for its fresh trendy atmosphere including a free espresso bar, fitness center, pool, spa, and sauna. Would a beautiful Queen Anne table and chairs fit the decor and the ambiance of the espresso? Not at all!

But the stainless steel bar stools GM Al Bombo SD240 designed by Stefano Glovannoni would look great! Fantastic trendy lines, swivel stool, height adjustment, and stainless base with polished die cast aluminum seat. A perfect chair choice, combined with a similar style table such as a bistro table or a glass table with say a stainless platform.

When choosing the right hotel furniture for a hotel there are a few things to consider. Let's have a look at what needs to be considered.

  1. Type of hotel -
    modern, classic, trendy, traditional?

  2. Who are you serving -
Business clientele, under 30 clientele, families, retired clientele?

  3. What ambience are you setting -
fun, relaxed, party, business? Your hotel furniture choices are critical to setting the mood in the room.

  4. What is your budget -
there may be all kinds of furniture that will fit your market but will it fit your budget. When you set your budget first you don't waste your time and you don't find yourself over budget either.

  5. Inside or Outside -
are you looking for hotel furniture for your exterior space or interior space? The furniture chosen for around the pool or on the outside deck is going to be much different than that found in an inside gathering area.

  6. Where is the hotel -
a hotel in the tropics is going to have a decor that looks much different than that of one in the northern part of the world. Wicker and rattan may be the choice for down south where as oak or mahogany wood may be the choice up north.

  7. Durability -
this might not seem like a concern but it is. Some materials and finishes hold up better than others and some are also much easier to maintain and take care of. For example glass table tops are very time consuming for staff that are doing the cleaning. Or a wood office chair will last much longer than a plastic chair although it may be cheaper to begin with.

Choosing the right hotel furniture doesn't have to be difficult as long as you think things through and buy knowing what it is you need.
