Visit Czech banks that have a definite international presence

The Czech Republic provides a hotbed of activities for international businesses and artsy young Czechs. It's fairly easy to find a bank that has branches in other countries, including the United States.

I recommend: Contact Citibank if you’re new to the international banking scene for both business and personal banking and the same services available in the U.S. Use ABN AMRO for their worldwide payment and investing services.

Look for smaller Czech banks for personalized service

Some smaller banks in the Czech Republic still offer the same options as an international bank in Czech Republic but with a less hectic atmosphere. If you prefer a quieter banking experience, consider a Czech owned bank.

I recommend: Call CSOB, which has full service banking with personal and business accounts, housing loans, currency exchange, online banking and an English language version of their website. Use J & T Bank for everything from individual accounts to real estate and corporate investments.

Choose banks in Czech with expatriate services

Since many Americans (and Europeans) relocate to or do business in the Czech Republic, many financial institutions cater to this segment of the population.

I recommend: Ceská Sporitelna caters to English, French and German speaking expats and has a special service center for them and copious branches and ATMs in Prague and other highly populated regions. Find a UniCredit Bank branch for great rates and a Komfort package with no transaction fees. They even have special services for freelancers.
